Think Before Leaving Negative Feedback Please

I'm so upset, I can't contain myself any longer. Boyfriend's at work and the dog doesn't understand English so I have talk about it somewhere...guess it'll have to be my blog. If you know anything about me, you know I'm an Ebay seller. Up until today, I have had 100% positive feedback with a couple of neutrals thrown in. Early, I checked on my Ebay listings and noticed my feedback was a point lower than it was the last time. I had received my first negative feedback rating. Why? Because the buyer had not received their package after a month of the purchase.

First of all, the buyer did not bother contacting me to let me know they had never received it. Second, I provide all of my customers a tracking number once I ship their package. If the buyer had bothered reading the email from Paypal and the personal one I sent to get their tracking information, they would have seen that I did in fact ship their item AND it shows the package was delivered on Aug 10th...just a few days after the purchase was made.

That should have told the customer that the problem lies within the postal system. Maybe they delivered it to the wrong address...maybe to a neighbor. Instead of investigating the problem, the buyer jumped the gun and left me negative feedback that I didn't deserve.

I just don't understand how a buyer could be so careless about someone elses business. I work hard to try and keep my customers satisfied and have high standards for my business. I take what I do very seriously and often go out of my way to make the customer happy. If I didn't care about my business, I would have had received negative feedback way before now.

I should have been given the benefit of the doubt. Most of my feedback comments mention "fast delivery" with no mention of any buyer not receiving their order. You would think this buyer would have taken that into consideration and realize the problem didn't lie on my end. Of course, I didn't hesitate to email the person and ask them to do some investigating. I did my part when I shipped the item so they should consider changing their negative feedback. If they don't, I'll ask Ebay to review it and see if they will remove the neg fb. They probably wont, but it's worth a shot. Especially since I have the information from the USPS showing the package was in fact delivered.

To top it off, I looked at the feedback this buyer left for other sellers. 2 were positive and there was one other negative besides mine that said almost the same exact thing. Both items were sent out about the same time. What are the chances of 2 sellers with no negatives all of a sudden deciding not to ship an item out to the same buyer in the same timeframe? It just doesn't make any sense.

Okay, enough ranting...I just want to get the word out to Ebay buyers. Please consider all possibilities and CONTACT THE SELLER if there is a problem before leaving negative feedback. Make sure the seller actually deserves it. You don't know how much that messes a seller's business up. Of course, if I actually did something wrong, I wouldn't have a problem with negative feedback. A couple of times, I caught my errors and have contacted the buyer so they are aware of it and try to resolve it the best way I could. If the mistake was made by me, I will definitely apologize for it and do something about it where the customer comes out on top.

One more thing...to all my other buyers, I appreciate your business and thank you for taking the time to leave feedback.

Okay, I feel a bit better now. Just took my "happy pill" and I'm starting to mellow out a bit. LOL

I didn't realize how long it's been since I updated this blog. I've been dealing with a lot of business issues which is where most of my time has been spent. The good news is I have gotten more people shopping online at my retail store, which means more people trust purchasing directly from my website instead of through my Ebay or Blujay store. Really, purchasing directly from the website will save you money if you are buying more than one item because shipping is just $8.95 for the entire order up to $100.00. You can buy 8 of the $8.10 tops and still only pay $8.95 for shipping. I think that's great. I thought not accepting credit cards on the site was going to be a big issue, but now I think it's better that I don't. I only accept Paypal, Alert Pay, and Google Checkout. I like the fact that my customers are protected and have a place to go and see the status of their order. For me, it's easier to do a return and refund through these sites rather than through a credit card processor.

Cute Plus Size Clothes Still A Hard Find

After all these years, I would expect to find nicer, more fashionable apparel in the plus size department. As a seller, it's still harder for me to find really cute plus size clothes than it is to find regular sizes. After my latest hunt, I did manage to find some items that I'm proud to put up at my Ebay store. Hopefully the hunt will get easier as time goes by. Check these out...

In other news, I did a lot of shopping for new merchandise for Fashions4Flirts Ebay store. I found a few cute 4X and 5X tops and a jacket that I'm sure my plus size ladies will love. Oh, I almost forgot about the 4X flair skirt. They will be delivered tomorrow, so I hope to have them up on Ebay by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. I'm already preparing myself to work late. I also have some regular ladies sizes...a military or band style jacket, a wool polo style sweater, and more.

In the meantime, I added a few of my older home inventory items to Ebay at fixed price or best offer. Matter of fact, most of my items allow for best offers. I need to make room for the new inventory and sales have been pretty good. I wish I had a bigger place to store more beautiful clothes. I found a lot of cool Twitter friends this weekend that are interested in all things fashion. I spent most of the morning reading missed tweets about the fashion world. There's so much going on, I can barely keep up. Guess it's time for breakfast, then I'll get back to work. Still have to update my other blog before I check on my listings.

Selling At Ebay & New Items At the Retail Store

I'm still selling at Ebay. I've been trying the other sites and with the exception of Blujay (with one sale to date), I haven't had much luck. Matter of fact, I haven't had ANY luck. I'm going to continue to list my items at all places: Ebay, Bonanzle, Blujay, Atomic Mall, Ecrater, and Ioffer for the exposure AND with Ebay's reputation, I never know when they will suspend my account for something stupid or just flat out ban me for something I didn't know I was doing wrong. I hear the horror stories all the time. So, it's in my best interest to continue with listing at all places. I know these things take time. It took several months for me to get one customer to purchase off of Fashions4Flirts Online Retail Store. Now I have a few regular customers who purchase about once a month.

Wish I Didn't Get Involved With Pitney Bowes

Word of caution: if you are just starting to sell online and need an online shipping service, STAY AWAY FROM PITNEY BOWES!!! Here's why: In August 2008, I tried their trial offer to receive a mailstation2 meter for 2 months without having to pay. Pretty much as soon as I received it, I knew it wasn't for me. I quickly found that a lot of my customers wanted a tracking number when I mailed something out to them...and having delivery confirmation would benefit me too. I called PB and spoke to a nice lady who convinced me to keep the meter for the full 60 days just to make sure I really didn't need the service. Dumb me agreed to it. When time was up, I called again and spoke to another rep who wanted to extend my trial for another month. What was it going to harm? She sounded so sad, I agreed again. After I hung up, I immediately began to kick myself in the bottom for caving in. When the 3rd month was about to end, I called again. I knew I couldn't flake out this time. I was firm and the rep agreed to send a return box and label to me so I could send the meter back. The box and label showed up, I sent it back...I thought that was the end.

A couple of weeks later, I checked my debit card statement and found a pending charge of $43 and some change from PB. I called them and a rep told me she didn't know why I was charged. There was nothing on my account that showed any charge. The balance was at 0. It was clear the meter was returned before the 2nd trial and promised to give me a credit if the pending charge became an actual charge. A couple of days later, the charge went through. I called them back for a credit, which they said again I would receive. After a couple of weeks...no credit. I called my bank and they helped me settle it. They went to battle for me and treated as a fraudelent charge. I had a credit of $43 by the end of the next business day. That was around the end of November. Again, I thought that was the end.

Earlier this week, I got a bill through snail mail from PB for the amount of $43. I just chucked it into the trash. Then yesterday, I got a call on my cell phone and a message on my voicemail from a rep saying the $43 was from charges that accrued before I canceled the service. I wonder why it took them so long to send me a bill. This happened around Oct-Nov and it's almost the middle of April now.

I have no plans to pay this. They have not told me what the charges are for specifically. Even if they charged the monthly fee of $15.95...originally $17.95, but they gave me a better rate when they extended my trial...it still doesn't add up to $43. When they call again, I will try my best not to go off on them. I'll probably end up talking to a supervisor on this one.

The moral of the story is: do your research before you start a program or service. If I would have researched Pitney Bowes before I got involved with them, I would have seen the scores of unhappy customers that have had to deal with crappy customer service and unethical tactics. It's amazing how many stories I've found online that are so similiar to mine.

I use Paypal for the most part because it's easy and they do not charge a monthly fee. I also use Stamps.com for when I need to get a better international shipping rate. The monthly fee is $17.99 for the program I have, but I think it's worth it to be able to give shipping quotes and put international first class postage on my mail at home and not have to wait in long lines at the post office.

Rai Sheng Plus Size Tops and More News

Tonight I'm trying to update my websites. I have so much to do and so little time to do it. So, I turned on my Pandora Internet Radio and cranked up the radio station I set for Los Kumbia Kings. My ex boyfriend turned me on to Kumbia Kings. I have no idea what most of the songs are about, but I like to have it on when I work. Most songs have a good beat and I'm not distracted by wanting to sing along.

Anyway, I saw some plus size blouses on my retail store website that I want to get for myself. I'm still undecided if I'm going to order them or not. I guess if I have a good selling week and if they are still available by the end of next week, I will go ahead and order. Sort of a reward for a job well done.

They are all made by Rai Sheng. They are printed, collared, and have a removable waist tie. They also button up the front. I want more clothes that I can wear out and about. Since I've gained a little weight, my clothes are not fitting like they used to. It's time for me to start a new wardrobe...or I can just try to lose some weight. Yeah, right. That's no fun. I like shopping way more.

Slowly But Surely

I am in the process of moving most or all of my items from Ebay to Bonanzle and other alternative auction sites. Even though I really like Ebay and will probably continue to buy from Ebay sellers, I'm drowning in fees and really can't afford to sell there much longer. I might just use Ebay to auction off my left over items...things I have only one of. Anyway, I hope Bonanzle pans out. I like the site, but still have a lot to get used to.
